Just come out to Trek Bicycles in Waterloo, Wisconsin either Sat, Sept 17 or Sun, Sept 18 (or both) and join the fun. The pro women race at Noon and the pro men race at 1:15pm. If you arrive early or stay late you can watch amateurs race on the same course as the pros with amateur racing starting at 8am. While you are at Trek you can purchase lunch from our food vendors and enjoy a Lakefront Brewery beer. Colectivo will be on hand with free coffee as well.
What is cyclocross? If you haven’t been out to see a cyclocross race yet you are in for a fun surprise. Cyclocross is a fast paced type of bike racing that lends itself to crowds of cheering fans ringing cowbells. Riders race laps around a short course (around 1.5 miles or about 6-8 minutes for top pros) that usually features some pavement, some dirt, some woods, some steep hills and obstacles that require racers to jump off their bikes and back on. Races are short at no more than 60 minutes (or less for amateur categories). Check out this video made to prepare you to watch a race!
We also have a kid’s activity area and a mini race course to keep little kids entertained. Saturday at 11:30am we will be running a free kid’s race for those who aren’t yet ready to race the full course.
You can also walk around the expo and through the pro team parking area to see the latest in bikes and gear and see the top athletes from around the world as they prepare to take on the challenging course on the Trek Bicycles grounds.
Trek is located at 801 W Madison St, Waterloo, Wisconsin. Check out our schedule as well.
Beer from Lakefront Brewery. Coffee from Colectivo. Food from Market Street Diner and Wisconsin Fried Cheese. There will also be a frite stand for that Belgian feel. The expo will include CXC Cup merchandise, Borah Teamwear, YumButter, Rapha Cycling Clothing, Central Cross Country Skiing and more.
